NAPANGARDI DOROTHY (Warlpiri). Circa 1950-2013 Digging stick dreaming / Le rêve du bâton à creuser, 2008. Dorothy was one of the most important Warlpiri artists from the community of Nyirrpi northwest of Alice Springs in the Tamani Desert. Her father was a great initiate from whom she inherited the rights to the sacred sites of Mina Mina. This site is the origin of many traditional stories from which Dorothy will draw inspiration for her paintings. On the back of the painting: indication of the size and signature.
