Lock. 20, 9 x 11, 86 cm and its key 15,9 cm. Horseshoe hasp on an eleven-knot hinge, framed with a frieze of ovals and three-ply orbe-vee elements, three of which are fixed and four of which form the heads of the nuts that secure the lock to the chest. Under a pediment pierced with a palmette, a gendarme hat door with a plate pierced with two superimposed hearts flanked by scrolls and which opens with a button operating a spring bolt. On the plate, under the hasp is engraved V.A:D.TEIL. The oblong box is pierced on its periphery of an oculus decorated with volutes. Key with lantern stem with double drilling, bit in iron of axe with six square holes and fifteen semi-cruciform holes, muzzle with comb with twenty-two teeth. Rectangular boss pierced with hearts surmounted by a rosette inscribed in a shrine with a tapering bank. Lantern in truncated pyramid pierced with C's and surmounted by a hat with curved faces on a cornice with dentils and crowned with a knob controlling a baluster. Initials A.D.T engraved under the boss. This is the largest known lantern key. Acquired in 2011 from the Michel Rullier collection, this lock was no longer working, its key having been damaged. Entrusted to the talent of the Master of Art Alain de Saint Exupery, it became perfectly functional again. Ein zentraler Knopf öffnet sich und gewölbte Schlüssellochabdeckung Tür durch einen Riegel verriegelt. Unter dem hasp ist VIA D.TEL geschrieben.
