Italian silver key (925/00) and booklet in... - Lot 88 - Art Richelieu
Italian silver key (925/00) and booklet in Italian celebrating the 25th anniversary of the founding of ERSI Experti Riferme Serrature Italia in 2010, which reads: To the founding partners, thank you for your commitment. Antique English key reproduced in silver by Milanese Carlo Vallè, who teaches bas-relief sculpture at the Instituto Superiore d'Arte del Castello Sforzesco in Milan. He has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad. He has received numerous awards, including twice the Premio San Eligio or Prix Saint Eloi, the highest recognition for the art of goldsmithing. Early 18th-century English key from the collection of Renato Maggioni. English keys were made of hardened steel and required precision and mastery on the part of the artist. Designed for expensive furniture, light yet strong, they were highly sought-after for their grace and beauty. The ring was elaborately carved with initials, animals, foliage, coats of arms and often noble crowns. The shank was chased and artistically worked, and the bit well defined. 13.03 cm; Weight: 79.52 g.
